Hahaha

The second one was funnier than the first. Both were well done hahaha

If you ever decide to make sequels, make sure to add more episodes into one movie. The comedic timing and the quickness is fine, but it'd be better to have let's say, 5 episodes in one instead of just two.

Good

Good start, excellent timing, pleasantly surprised.

Nothing very special though, but good for a first.

I liked the song :D

haha

I started out thinking this was gonna be crap but then it got funnier as it went along. migrainary XD gj

Never judge a book by its cover babs ;)

First for those of you who know little about China: When they're escaping on the boat it's not heading out to sea, it's going along a river. That's why there's a rower. This is also a WWII setting so those are japs bombing the cities. For people who don't have WWII veterans or WWII survivors in their family it might be a bit hard to relate.

For the actual animation I have to agree with previous reviewers that it's a bit "off". Perpetual smiles while crying is not the way to go. They look like tears of joy while the text clearly contradicts it. I also recommend getting chinese voice actors (for a foreign film effect) or at least some voice actors so the reading's not as boring. I don't mind subtitles but without any voices at all it just feels like rolling text :P. The music could also be varied a bit, by adding a 2nd or 3rd song for the more dramatic or sad moments in the story could make this much better. The actual animation is alright since it's supposed to feel like a storybook but you need work on faces. Conveying emotion in emotional stories is key, it's much more important that background and settings (which I see a great amount of detail in).

This Review is for the entire series 1-18

What really carried this series to the end was the story. It was captivating, interesting, complex, and had large amounts of character development. Though some characters are underdeveloped and the main character Xin seems to fade from the spotlight at times (kinda like in Naruto where the main character is not always what the story was about). It was still very well done and the ending tied things together well.
The sound was good and the voice acting was excellent when compared to most amateur voices you would find in flash animations.
The graphics are a hard one to judge. For a flash animation it's incredible, but there are times where there are small yet noticeable inconsistencies with hands or faces. Though animation during fights are intense, fast, and fun to watch so they draw you away from the flaws.
Wow I wrote a lot O_o

Smooth animation!

lol Vinnie Veritas pwns :D

^_^

Zhong Guo ye you flash? :D

Post more please if you can find em. Seriously I didn't think China had many flash animations but then again XiaoXiao's a classic so it shouldn't come as such a suprise to me >_<

Where were you?

Nov. 2005? I hope you were working on a second submission the last 4 months :P

5 on humor because there was a guy punching a canvas (it cracked me up I don't know why)

Good art, a bit choppy at times. Good music but I think some more sound effects couldn't hurt.
