why can't I kill the guards? Or can I and I just haven't figured out how yet O_o
It'd make sense that I would be able to take out guards and the kill would sound an alarm (so it's still a big risk but sometimes worth it)

This game makes me feel more of a man. The fact that everything is mapped to the space bar actually makes combat easier for me. I enjoy the versatility afforded by just one key and how long you hold it. Once mastered the controls are surprisingly fluid.
Protips:
-Throw all barrels at enemies. If you don't do this they'll swat the barrels at you. Use it or lose it
-Use ledges and gaps often in later stages. It forces enemies to jump the ledge and a quick strike will knock them down allowing for execution moves
-Use elevation always. Being slightly higher allows you to continuously kick away an entire legion without getting hit. Attacking from behind a tiny knee-high wall will allow you to power strike without retaliation
-Rush+quick strike spearmen+archers
-Power strike, keep distance vs skeletons
-Hit and Run power strikes vs Flaming black guards
Boss strats:
-1st boss: wait till he swings the stick. When you're sure he's swinging a stick and not tossing a boulder, jump onto the left ledge and then jump back onto his stick as he retracts it. This will toss you toward the boss and then swing at his face for dmg
-2nd boss: It's a gauntlet of three sets of tentacles. If you continually swipe at the tentacles they will just keep spawning, however you cannot move forward until the tentacles near you are cleared. The key is quickly pwning all tentacles, waiting for a moment of pause in the respawn of the tentacles then quickly move on to the next section of the gauntlet. Once you've cleared the gauntlet three times, and hit the boss three times, it's over
-3rd boss: (witch I think): time your quick strike, as soon as she sweeps down at you hit her in the face with a short quick strike. After this she will summon the skeletons, use your power strikes on them and keep your distance. Skeletons have short range attacks but very quick strikes so if you get near they'll mince you. If she starts dropping molotovs don't panic, take cheap shots and aerial hits at the skeletons while moving back and forth. She will toss the bombs at where-ever YOU are, so standing still during the bombs is recipe for failure. Absolutely crucial you finish off skeletons before she sweeps down at you, that is when you hit her in the face with a quick strike again. Hit her three times for victory
-4th boss: Jump over her shockwaves. Don't stop infront of her, just keep jumping back and forth over her head and it'll force her to do a tiny shockwave. Once you see that tiny shockwave it means she's weak and that's when you hit her with a combo. She'll toss you back and continue shockwaving. Hit her with approx 4 combos and she's done.
-5th boss: Jump attacks. Your clone cannot jump higher than you, also the clone's jump attack is about half a second slower. This allows you to swipe at him mid-air without behind hit yourself. Just keep jumping back and forth and you'll be able to finish him. BE WARNED an army of skeletons will spawn right after he dies. Take cover behind a chest high wall and power strike em down.
-6th boss: fucking hedgehog. The key here is to jump from the middle of the arena toward where the hedgehog is rolling. That might sound suicidal but his roll is faster than your jump so timed correctly, you'll dodge his attack and land right next to him. Hit him with a swipe and he'll toss you back. Once you get back up note the shadows on the floor to avoid the falling spikes. Then dodge his 2nd roll. His third roll repeat by jumping toward where he's going and land next to him+ hit him with a swipe. Rinse and repeat till victory
-7th Boss: This is the final boss, I think. I'm not sure because I haven't beat him yet, he's that fucking hard. He will toss a small wave of baddies at you, then force you to run all the way to him while he swings a 2-hit KO infinite range mace at you with tremendous speed. On the off chance you do get to him he'll parry your attack and you'll have to lock swords with him.
If anyone gets to the 7th boss I'd appreciate a review explaining strats and tips you might have picked up. Very difficult fight.

It's obvious they're just stalling with comic books, video games, and anime movies until enough time has passed so that they can start remaking Hollywood classics for the modern audience once the old copyright holders die off.
Citizen Kane Neo
The Godfather in Space
Ben Hur 2032
Gone With the Storm
Then once they're done desecrating those corpses they'll come full cycle and make
The Dark Knight Returns
Ironman, the Steel Fist
Transformers X
etc.
It's the cycle of recycled ideas, the same stuff twirling in endless continuum until some other medium enters Hollywood's washing machine. Then whatever's new (like comic books for this decade) becomes sucked into the twirling washing machine and gets stuck in the Hollywood spin cycle till all the originality is cleaned out.

being someone who's played Advance Wars, there's a key element missing.
The turn based fighting is all there but there aren't any likeable characters. The advance wars generals all had such unique distinguishing and interesting personalities. That's what truly drives the story forward and makes the game flourish.
Better portraits and being able to tell exactly who's talking based on dialogue would be a huge plus.
(oh and I don't mean you HAVE to make the generals like Advance Wars, all wacky and cartoony, but they should definitely be distinguishable and have unique personalities so I care which general is which.)

Thanks for the feedback. Will try fix that for the full game.

like an old mmorpg with too large a world and too small a playerbase
I couldn't find anyone else to play the game with and couldn't experience the game. It's the drawback of a game based on multiplayer =(
I'll give you a 8/10 on assumption because the interface seems to be very well thought out and I'm just an optimistic person.

Awesome game
Protips: read only if you're stuck or can't figure it out
Lightning+Explosive (max both to 3)= best crowd clearing attack in the game. Will obliterate everything given your aim is semi-decent. The reason this is the best is because on impact it, even if it doesn't kill the target, it'll obliterate it's "parts" and make it freefall to it's own doom. Not to mention the lightning arcs to nearby targets
Get the shields, they have the same effect as extending your health bar
Pierce+Homing (both lvl 3): This is the ultimate spam. Homing isn't worth it until level 3, but pierce combos well with almost anything. Once u get H3/P3, spam it. When I say spam it I mean click as rapidly as you can to get those arrows into the air. No aiming required, as long as your arrow is somewhat going toward an enemy's direction the arrow will fly toward them and decimate their parts.
Use Pierce+Homing spam to accumulate 20 arrows on screen at once (it's possible just keep spamming). Also the pierce/homing can kill the final boss in under 20 seconds. The arrows will pass through the boss hitting him multiple times and your spam will accumulate arrows in the air while the boss is teleporting.
